Buckhead Condos and Homes

Written by Brett

If you love technology then you’ll be right at home in some of Buckhead’s high-tech condominiums.  As the real estate market continues to grow more competitive, developers are adding all the latest bells and whistles to lure prospective buyers to their projects.  This is especially true with many of the luxury condo developments in Buckhead.

Sovereign Condominiums, which opened in 2008 and has only eighty-two units, is a perfect home for those who love technology.  Each unit contains a wall-mounted touch-screen panel that controls nearly all aspects of operating the home.  For instance, you can open and close all of the curtains and blinds, control the music, television, security system, and air conditioning and even custom program the system to keep track of your wine collection.

The Brookwood, which is opened in May of 2009 and contains 219 homes, was constructed according to LEED green building standards that utilizes an energy recovery ventilator.  The system draws in pre-conditioned outside air to distribute to the units and thus provides better indoor air quality.  Additionally, residents enjoy home technology features for easy control of entertainment, lighting, HVAC and security as well.

10 Terminus Place, a live-work development located at the corner of Peachtree and Piedmont, goes one step further by making its technology “mobile”.  When a new resident moves in they receive and iPod Touch that contains pre-loaded software that allows them to perform numerous functions.   Some of the many of these time-saving conveniences include: communication with the concierge, food ordering from on-site restaurants, scheduling a massage or even notifying the valet to pull their car around from the garage.

So as you have read, some Buckhead condos contain nearly every bit of technology you could ever want.  In fact, just about the only thing the technology won’t do for you is chose which condo to buy, but rest assured the developers are working on that as well.
